Supergeil in Corktown, Detroit should be your go-to spot for the best brunch vibes. Here’s why:

The Food

The food at Supergeil feels more personal than other food. For example, the fries don’t just come as fries with maybe a side of Ranch (that I know every Michigander loves). The fries come with some magic combination of custom sauces offered by the restaurant that taste like a flavor combo you haven’t tasted before and absolutely love.

The deviled eggs taste like the ones your Aunt Karen famously makes, but with a fancy twist of goodness you’ve never had before. On top of items that were more out of the ordinary, they do a great job at giving you what they know you want from a classic dish like eggs benedict.

The Atmosphere

Every dish and glass at Supergeil looks as if it was thrifted at a fancy consignment store and designed specifically for the space. Varying in colors, designs, and character. I found myself spending a few minutes to myself during my last visit just looking at everything on the table in front of me enjoying the view.

In the back room, meant for larger groups and overcrowding, there is a massive fiddle leaf fig tree that is the envy of every homeowner. This and the choice to use many wood elements, make the space feel organic and cozy.

From the design of the menus to the mirrors on the walls, everything looked very purposefully designed and placed which added to the overall experience on top of the delicious food.

Perfect For Big Groups (New Discovery)

After attending a friends birthday brunch at Supergeil recently, I can confidently say it’s a great spot for big groups. The back room mentioned before comfortably fit 22 people; most of which where at a big long table. Now I know that’s a huge group, but I think it would also be great for let’s say a group of 6 to 8.

Everyone decided to order what they wanted and then just split the bill at the end with each person throwing in a card to pay. I don’t drink, so I ordered more food for myself to “even out” the bill to where I didn’t feel I was paying more in then I got out. My husband and I ended up paying $200 including tip but feel we got what we paid for and were there for around 2-3 hours. We like to treat ourselves to a fancy food experience around once each month so this fit right into that strategy.

The staff also seemingly did not stress in taking care of such a large group which was lovely. I was really impressed as most group experiences at restaurants I’ve had did not turn out as well.
